We are a vegan family and usually don’t book breakfast when we stay at a hotel as we don’t want to cross-subsidise foods for others that we don’t consume ourselves for ethical reasons. This was an exception as it seemed impossible to find a hotel without breakfast included and above all, because one of the staff of Scandic S:t Jörgen got back to my inquiry about vegan breakfast items, telling us what would be available, which sounded really good. In reality, it was even better. The vegan breakfast at Scandic S:t Jörgen has been the best vegan breakfast we have ever had in a non-vegan hotel. Apart from the standard food (breads, cereals, fruit and veg, vegan yoghurts, milks, spreads etc.), we got vegan pancakes as well and from day 2 also vegan sausages. The staff in the breakfast room was super-friendly and super-helpful and the breakfast was really great every day. Any hotel that really wants to be sustainable has to start with the foods they serve, so as long as these crazy amounts of animal products are provided that we saw every day there, true sustainability cannot be achieved. Therefore, I would really love to see the hotel advertising their vegan breakfast much more and, above all, expanding on this while reducing high-emission, cruelty-based animal foods at the same time. I have to say that the best from that hotel is the location, as it is in the center of Malmo and at 10 min walking to the Central Station (very comfortable if you travel with train and airplane, like we did), but this is not unique. The unique and really surprising was the breakfast - it was really good and was extended to 11h. We were very happy we can rest a bit more in the morning, after whole day walking. Also the staff is friendly and they have a luggage room which we used both on arrival and departure.

Good breakfast, good quality! And even when I didn't make it on time, I was still welcome! There was a lot of options, also a bunch of vegan options too if thats what you need. I like that you need to book your room service, because its actually so simple. All you do is scan the code in your room, put your room number in, and select the options for cleaning service and breakfast. Its better because its more private for you without needing to put "do not disturb" on your door.

The room for wheelchair-users was very spacious and well thought-out, the bed was comfortable and the right height for transfer. The bathroom had grab rails, lowered basin, and the cleanliness was very good. I found the reception staff very friendly, especially the guy who checked me in, and the breakfast staff were very helpful. Hotel is in a nice area, next to a square and some lovely little parks, also a small shopping mall with a supermarket.

Breakfast was awesome. Over weekend, there was a line for coffee which was a little annoying and can simply be fixed by adding more coffee machines. The location is the best. The staff are super friendly and accommodating and do their best to make you feel like being at home.
